Here's a link to the Corp's flow history and forecast for many of the dams on the Arkansas, including Dardanelle.
I was just down below the Dardanelle dam yesterday (2/07/09). There wasn't much flow at all. I had a few hours to kill before a meeting on the Tech campus. I threw my net for a while, but the shad were just too far for me to reach. I did watch a few snaggers on the generator side wear themselves out snaggin without any luck.
Most of the gulls were just circling. They did grab a lot of shad they ended up dropping most of the time. I guessed that was gizzard shad too big for them to hold on to. The pelicans would take care of that part after them.
Yeah, if the #1 generator (the one closest to shore) isn't running, it's hard to get shad at Dardanelle. But when it's running, you can usually get all you want at the foot of the concrete wall.
