Spent a day on the river with Branden (BKS72) and his young son Eric yesterday. My daughter Lauren (7) and Son Jack (lil cuz, age 4) went along for the fun.

Throughout the day, lil Cuz worked diligently on a new rig that he says will assure all of us catching monster catfish.

It would take an engineer to figure out the intricacy of the knots, loops, twist, and baits, but if your up to the task here is a materials list, I think

3 feet of heavy duty nylon twine
8 inches of small twine of unknown weight class
    A 3 way swivel
    two snap swivels
    one small crappie jig head
    one plastic crawdad bait
    a 4 ounce weight
    a 8 ounce weight
    a 1/2 ounce weight
    a 1/16th ounce pinch sinker
    a Number 2 snelled hook
    small piece of asian carp

Assemble the rig as shown in the photo, and you will catch big fish, he says.

As soon as he lets me know where you tie your main line, I'll pass it on. He's still working on that.

As well, I thought all of us could repost some of the youngsters photos and contraptions on here again, because they are flat hilarious.

Good Luck with the rig tying. :smile2:

No danger I will steal his idea. I couldnt make that rig if I had it laying right in front of me.Way to complicated for me.

Lil Cuz has informed me that this rig is 'designed' to be hung over the side and handfished.

Apparently it is. He said you have to hang over the side of the boat and "jig" it in the water. Maybe hes on to something. :smile2:

Apparently to test the rig on dry land it must be swung vigorously around like a lasso to test it's hydrodynamics as well. I can say that as part of the testing process it did attract regular house cats (BEFORE hook attachment) while pulled at high speed through the Cuz domicile:wink:

well Harold now that you mention it I dont remember Vince mentioning a fish he caught. Can it be that I just didnt hear him. If he didnt it was probably those blue poles he had.
