Life decisions that people have to make are never simple.

The importance of the initial decision should always be examined over the long run.

Memories made and cherished are sure to be tempered along the way.

    Consider the following two choices...

    Should I get a Dog....

    ...or have children?

I'd go with a canary, myself. LOL

I'd go with the dog. Vet bills are cheaper and you don't have to send them to college!

If the dog turns out to be a mistake, you can get rid of it; hard to do that with kids. I vote for the canary - you can always make a small, small, small Thanksgiving Dinner out of it.:smile2:

    Have a nice day.

Barb, that's just too good! Thankfully none of my dogs have ever done anything THAT bad . A friend of mine had two toddlers ten months apart though. One day when she was on the phone in the next room, they decided to grease each other up (and various other items - the couch, television, carpet and coffee table ) with a big can of Crisco .

choose the dog. if it gets too far out of hand, you can shoot it and not go to jail.

I'll take my cat over kids and dogs anyday. He's friendly, funny, cheap, independent and clean.

I would say try both, both are rewarding, and as I see both can get messy.

Barb, that totally takes me back a few years. I haven't been brave enough to have kids yet. My GF's are enough. And her grandkid. I got called Papa yesterday, but that's another story.

I had a dog who's favorite chew toy was a couch. He ate 3 down to the frame. I've never purchased a brand new couch because of this. I also came home from work one day, and the kitchen floor was in the living room. He wanted to be a carpenter, but was never very good at it!LOL!!! He was forever imprisoned after that one. Luckily Kasha's favorite pass-time is sleeping, and eating the occasional lightbulb.
