went to wal mart yeaterday and bought me 2 new trollin motor batteries and when i was putting them in the truck i noticed the threads on the one battery post was tore up...there would have been no way to get a lock nut or wing nut to thread onto that battery post...i was lucky to have noticed it in the parking lot and not once i got home...so be advised to check all the battery post threads before you carry your new batteries home...even if the threads have a plastic "protective" cover on them i would and will from now on remove the cover to verify the threads are in good shape...thought i would pass this on to y'all and maybe save you an extra trip and/or headache

Nowadays just because it's new does not mean it's not broken

No doubt! I have bought several batteries that were d-e-a-d dead right from the get-go.

It pays to check them out before you have to depend on them.
