Has anyone fished the Leon or the Lampasas River? I dive over the Leon quite a bit around Gatesville, and think it would be good. I don't see much access to it though...

I fished th eleon down by Belton, there is a small little spillway, Its real good there for whites and hybrides in the spring when the water is running. White or pearl baby bass assasins work great! As for the cats, its always ben real slow for me but when I've caught them it was on hotdogs.Hope this helps.

I grew up in Comanche County and fished the Leon then and for years afterward. Always caught fish. Proctor Lake slowed the flow and the fishin' for miles downstream, but I still hear of good fishin' in the South Leon. If you can get access, I'd sure give it a try.
