They are a popular wels bait, especially in the River Po in Italy a while back. A lot of people use them in the UK with some success. I've had some good fish on them on the odd time I've used them, but I prefer good 'ole fish myself! :)

I have done well, useing leaches, on trot lines and jugs in lakes. I have never tried leaches on a rod and reel. I prefer cut shad or skipjack.

leeches work go on dob rods as long as they arnt on bottom.I always take them and put a couple of chiken livers in th carton. They will triple in size and when you put them on the hook they will bleed a litile bit kind of like a chum scent you might try them .I have caught flatheads up to 30 lb and some desent channels

'Round here they cost 6 or 7 dollars a dozen, so I haven't tried them. I preffer free bait. Up at the lake I hear-tell that they catch alot of blues on them, but I stick with shad and perch since they are free.

  14. you may also want to try both leeches and night crawlers on the same hook. I have been able to produce some big fish that away.
