Would it be feasible or worth the hassle to make your own leaders?:confused2:
I always make my own leaders out of 50 lb. premium salt water ande. Its very abrasion resistant and ties strong knots. You can make them to the length that fits your style of fishing.
I think most of the guys do.
I pre tie all my own leaders, aint gonna trust a store bought knot.
Thanks for yalls advice:wink:
I agree. Tie em yourself.
We do all of our own as well.
There is an article about the catfish rig box that is up in the CATFISH PUBLICATION » Pro's Corner I wanted to try to help you all with this problem or concern about pretying your rigs before you even hit the water to save you time and effort. During a tournament, every second counts as you want to be focused and watching for a bite. You never know when that pole will go down and you have to be ready for it
It is just easier to me to make your own leaders. You can choose your own line, the hook style you want and the length of the leader.
I agree 100% i always pre tie my own leaders i don't trust store bought knots.... i only use polymer knots
It is a lot cheaper because you can find a big spool of 50lbs test for about $10 or so at Bass Pro, and make as many leaders as you want at any length, vs if you buy leaders you could spend $10 on 5-10 leaders. So you can make a lot more then that from a spool.
