what is the best knot to tie your leaders with i heard palomer will work good
A polamar to the swivel and a uni snell for the hook. That's a combination that alot of people seem to use, including me. There are other knots that will work and work fine, but everybody has their own way of doing things.
On hooks with turned up or down eye's I use a snell, hooks with straight eyes the palomar. Snap swivel with a palomar to the main line and loop knot to attach leader to the swivel.
Since I use a snap swivel, I'll attach the hook with a palomar knot and tie a leader loop at the other end.
For tying a greater diameter mono to the mainline mono it is the Albright knot or the slim beauty. If the main line was braid the best knot is the Alberto knot.
If tying to the swivel the trilene knot, improved clinch knot, and the unit knot.
