We fished till around 6:30 this morning. We had a couple take downs but they just wouldn't take the hook. Bill had one take the hook but snap his leader before he could get the rod in hand. None the less it beat sittin on the couch.....

Yeah, that was my fault. I use 50# mono leader and prior to throwing that line out, my leader had been in a big tangled up mess, all twisted and kinked up, I knew in the back of my head I should have re-rigged with a new leader, but laziness set in due to the early morning hours. Let's just say it cost me a big fish! :embarassed: That Surge Elite was bent over to the water! Not to mention I had a 6-7 inch whole shad on the X-TRA LARGE circle hook!

Oh Yeah! I was beating myself up over it too! I can tell you one thing, it won't happen again!

We had some great take down last night, just couldn't hook the little stinkers!:confused2:

I had that same problem down at Truman a couple of weeks ago. My rod folds in half, and I grab it, and nothing. I switched to them Team Catfish 8/0 hooks, and I've caught every fish that has hit the last three trips out.

Geez! You aren't asking for much are you???? I dunno about the 12/0's. The biggest I use is 10/0. The biggest hook you can get from Team Catfish are 8/0"s I believe, but they are quite abit bigger and stronger than the regular gomakatsu circles.
