Raining, cool and wind blowing this morning in DC! Our only bad weather
day... we have been very lucky to had all the nice beautiful weather.

After breakfast I noticed extra police cars down in the street from our hotel room window. Told Betty something had happen or was going to happen. We are on the 4th floor by New York St. In a while they blocked the street in front of the hotel....in a minute or so here comes the Presidential motorcade... two police cars and motorcycles in front, an ambulance and two more cop cars in the rear, total of 16 vehicles. There were two Presidential cars... both look identical. All vehicles were black, except ambulances and DC police cars.
The pictures are not good due to the rain, taken through window glass and
the vehicles were very driving fast.

In about 1.5 hrs they came by going back to the White House, it's on the
end of this street a few blocks from here.
We thought it all was pretty neat. :smile2:

Yesterday as we were going in the White House, the motorcade was at the
front door while we were going in the side door.

Amy, they don't let the public visit the oval office... the tour is self guided, no cameras, there is a Secret Service guy in each room to answer questions. We went through several rooms. 1PM they stop the tours, clean the rooms and put them back in service. It lasted about 40 minutes and we didn't have to wait. Ours was at 8:30, we got there about 8:20 and went right in. We enjoyed it. All tours have to be scheduled couple months ahead through your Congressman. The day before the guys at the Capital told us the White House tour wasn't much... but they were Democrats, LOL. The Capital tour was longer... about 1.5 hours and our Congressman's aid took us and about 5 others through, cameras are allowed.

We've have decided that most everyone in DC works in Police or security.
