Thanks for posting, Dieter. Great video clip. I can't help but wonder why some things were edited out, though. I heard the length and girth when Jim and Mary Catherine were measuring, but where's the weight?, or did I miss it?
Man, it makes me wonder where my luck is.. I fished that same area a week or so earlier and caught nothing over about 12 lbs. :embarassed: That's the way it is when fishing those lakes; you never know what might hit the bait next...

The weight that was posted earlier when it was caught was 96.3 and that was on certified scales
I also noticed it had been edited pretty good,I guess for the sake of the show,I doubt it has aired yet since the fish was only caught 2 weeks or so ago.

if the calculation for the weight is right you do the following......

length x girth x girth / 800 equals the weight of fish..

so lets see what they were and if we come out with same figures..

    54.5 length x 41" girth=2234.5 x 41" girth = 91,614.5 / 800=114.51lbs

that the calculations that all the sites i look up say too. the record by what i saw was 109.4

so this lady did have a state record can anyone verify it for me and let me know something. really got me thinking now

It was not a state record, Joe, but it was
or something weird like that. That's partly why I wondered why they edited out the weight on the video. The story http://www.southcarolinasportsman.com/details.php?id=794 had it at 96.3 lbs, but someone else who should know, posted someplace that it was 94 lbs.; so was wondering what the actual weight was....

Very special catch. That's the kind of fish we're all looking for, congrats to Daryl and the fishing show host on a helluva trip and a catch to remember for a lifetime.
