Overall Bite: GOOD Lake Wylie produced as expected this week after heavy rains and high water last weekend. Waters remained slightly muddy, but much clearer and more into the ideal catfish waters clarity than earlier in the week. River and lower lake water temperatures were around 54 degrees following some warm days this week. The South Fork remained relatively cool at 59 degrees due to the influx of freshwater. The overall bite was good late in the week with catches of 20-25 fish possible. Looking deep was the key to finding fish, and either anchoring or very slow drifting was the key to hooking up. Most traditional cut baits worked, but gizzard shad and white perch seemed to be preferred. Colder temperatures are on the way early this coming week with overnight lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s and 40s. Hopefully this will not put a break on the bite for those taking time to fish around Christmas.
