I arrived at Wateree Creek landing to meet my son Michael at 7am. After getting the boat in the water I called Michael to see where he was. He was still in bed in Rock Hill. He said he wanted to come so Iwaited for him. Finally started fishing up river near the deep hole on the east side. There was a lot of activity on the surface from stripers and I think some white bass but they didn't want anything we threw their way.

Finally started trolling Santee rigs with bream heads at about 8:45am. After a little while Michael caught a 9 pounder. A few minutes later another rod went down and after about 10 minutes Michael landed his PB - 18 lb 10 oz. (picture) Things got slow after that, finally caught one more that was about 2 lbs. All were released today.
