The Catawba Catfish Club had our 6th tournament of the year tonight. It was also the first night event of the year as well and it was a good thing,It was a very hot 93 degrees at blastoff time of 6:00pm.We had 28 Boats show up to fish tonight with 58 paying anglers and 2 kids for total pot of $1160 and a Big Fish pot of $270.We had some threatening skys at the beginning but the storms never materialized and soon the clouds pushed off to usher in a bright full moon. There was some quality fish caught and the bite seems to have made a turn for the better. The anchor bite seemed to be the way to go again tonight.Water temps were running at 90 degrees, give or take a degree or two depending which part of the lake you were on.

Big Fish Pot-Steven Stewart and Will Patterson-28.20 and $270

Sorry no pics were taken on this one.

Thanks to everyone for doing your very best on keeping the fish alive tonight,I think a couple of teams lost a fish or so but most fish seemed pretty lively at the scales. It was indeed a chore to keep them going in those temperatures.

A big thanks to Big Stuff Tacle Co. on the prize donation{Drift weights and Katbobbers}.the top 14 teams recieved Money or prizes tonight thanks to them.

We would like to thank everyone for coming out and fishing, our next tourney will be on Lake Wylie on July 24th and it will be a night event out of Buster Boyd Access,6:00pm-2:00 am.Hope to see everyone there.

Thanks Team Green for another great tourny. It was a rough one for me and will though. when we tried to leave to go load up our boat wouldnt start which im thinking is fuel related. By the way thank you very much Dale and Nancy Sturgis for the tow back i dont know if my boat would ever pull your big boat but if yall ever need it ill try. Any time you need anything let me know. Back to the night once we finally got the boat loaded on the trailer and got on down the road will notices his gas light is on. Now were still infront of the state park when we see this and we have to make it to Rock Hill. So we decide to try to coast and at least get as far as we can and find a Gas station. We take 77 since we know there will be a better chance of finding something but everything is closed. then we pass John, Jasons partner parked on the side of the highway. We pull over to make sure everything is good with him and as we do our truck runs out of gas. So we talk to John who is just catching a nap and Will decides that were going to run some 2 cycle gas to limp on back. so we put a little in and john follows us on down the highway just incase we dont make it but run up on an open gas station in chester and finally fill up. So a tow back from the river, 30 closed gas stations and some weedeater gas later we roll into my yard at 5:00. Fun night huh? it was worth it

That was very nice of Dale and Nancy to give ya a tow.I am sure just about anyone fishing the tourney would have also been glad too.Folks like Dale and Nancy is what makes this series a success. They gave up their fishing time to help an angler in distress.Hats of too them for that.
I hope yall filled that gas tank up with some of that big money you guys won.Congrats on the Big Fish and yall had a very respectable 3 fish stringer. You guys are coming on strong and learning the catfishing game quickly. Now yall just gotta learn to look at the gas gauge more often.Hope its nothing major wrong with your boat.

Thanks Team Green for another great tourny! Congrats to Steven and Will on a nice catch! Hats off to Dale and Nancy for towing in a stranded boater. Tuff break Dean on the expired fish, come check out my set up at the next tourny. Its not much to it and is fairly inexpensive. I only changed my water 4 times last night and the fish were just as lively as they were when we cought them. Just ask Jeff Green, he's the one that has to weigh those spunkie fish. Thanks Sun Bird and Poppop (Big Stuff Tackle) for donating prizes to the tourny. Hate you guys were'nt able to make it, maybe next time. Congrats to all the top finishers!

George i may take you up on that offer. I believe if i had changed batterys on my Bubbler sooner i wouldn't have lost that fish. It had gotten weak and wasn't puttin out that much. We were getting fish and i didn't check it in time. Fish ain't no good dead. The one that died was one of the first we caught and would have probably changed our standings in the tournament. I'm happy with what i got and next tourney will make some changes. It was just good to be there fishn with some of the best cat fishermen on the planet. Even with the # of fishermen the Green's went through the weigh in like pro's. Great tournament, great prizes, great people. Hate i left my camera in the camper.
Speaking of folks helping one another, i want to thank Gator for helping with the fish. May not sound like much to some but it was a lot of help to me. I'm still not suppose to do any lifting and Gator steped in and helped out.

i just wanted to give everyone an update on the motor troubles. when i finally got a chance to work on it today i pulled the cowl off and could see puddle of gas all in it and sprayed everywhere. so i knew right away it was a fuel leak. when i got to tracing it down i touched one of the fuel lines that leads into the block and it fell right off. i took a look at it and it was splitt about 2 inches down. i cut the fuel line down below the split and slid it back on the nipple. primed it and turned the key. no more leak and problem fixed. i like cheap fixes
