Lake Wateree 12-20-08 - 29 pound blue catfish

    Wateree only gave up 3 fish to us today.Water temp. 51*-53*.Big fish (29.5lb)came from 40' on cut gizzard-2 others were small channels caught in 18'.-Bite was so slow we had time to read the newspaper on drifts.

    Could be worse. Ive had many, many days a lot slower than that. Congrats on the good blue ( and just getting to go fishin )!

    Jimmy, I am glad to hear the big fish was released.

    I hope you do that with most of your big fish anywhere you fish. As you know, there are plenty of "eater size" fis in Lake Wateree. They are safer to eat, and it reducing the smaller fish numbers while protecting the big fish helps to actually grow bigger fish faster.

    congrats on the nice blue..i was on wateree the same day caught 2 blues 25lbs each other than that the fishing was slow for me too. nice weather this weekend so I will be on the water again.
