I have caught a lot of catfish, but never a flathead. I would like to catch a few. Any tips on lake fishing? I am going out on a local lake tonight. It is river fed lake with a lock and dam. I have been fishing the old river bed in the lake. Right on the river bend. There is always a lot of shad in this area.

i would say fish that part of the lake or where the river feeds in.... and try getting some live shad if not, live bluegills... cause if there is shad or another kind of baitfish in the area there has to be some flatheads.... just try a few spots and be patient grasshopper... " If you fish it, They will bite!!! "... Good luck and let me know how you do

    * I'd say focus on structure at any part of the lake..
~ I fish rock piles at night and have had some good luck this year..

Hope you figure them out.. If you stick with the BOC, I guarentee you will learn enough to catch what you are fishing for...

    Take care!

Well I am back from fishing. We did not catch anything. Alot of people were out trying tonight, but no one was catching fish. After a several hours we left the lake and went to a little spillway, and still caught nothing. We did get extremely wet. Between the bad storm and a bass tourn. setting up for the morn we just went home.

Like they say, a bad day fishing is better than a good day working.
