Went out for a few hours this evening. Bait was hard to come by. I ended up picking a few large gizzard shad in shallow (2 ft.) water in cut-backs and coves. Caught a 12 lb. blue on a slip cork set for around 20 ft. in 37 ft. of water. Later caught an 8 lb. blue in 39. ft of water on a bottom rig. I would have liked to stay longer, but was starting to nod off. Figured I'd better get on the road. Anywho, a nice relaxing night with a couple fun catches.

    See y'all

Hey John, there are almost always some shad in the mouth of the Swift Island boat ramp creek. They are usually close to 20 feet deep or more. Just idle around that whole open area there and you should find them with the depthfinder. Just becareful with your net. There is a lot of wood in the water near the shoreline on the side closest to the lower end of the lake.

Thanks a lot, I'll definitely give that a try.
