Anyone been fishing the spillway at Lake Shelbyville? Have heard of record water levels in the lake and plenty of water being released out the spillway. Am planning a trip either to the lake or spillway to do some night catfishing. Any info will be appreciated.

i was on the lake last week and had no luck. its usually my favorite lake to fish for big channels. i think the high water has pretty much ruined it for this summer. i havent tried the spillway.

I tried the spillway a couple weeks ago they were really dumping the water. I did see someone with a 7lb channel cat. I didn't have any luck with the cats. Caught some white bass and snagged a few gar. Had a hard time keeping baits in place. Hope you have some really heavy no roll sinkers. I wen't as high as 3 ounce and they wouldn't hold. Was using cut drum and blue gill for bait. I've prety mutch given up on Shelbyville for the year.
