Does anyone know if there are any flathead catfish in either lake rhodhiss or lake hickory? I know there are flatheads in lookout and norman but i have never caught one in hickory or rhodhiss.

I am not sure but I will bump this back to the top and maybe someone in that area will see it and be able to answer your question.

Seems like Ive heard of em being caught in Lake Hickory. Ive only fished Hickory once in the last few years. I always fish Lookout or Normon.

JayJay, are you SURE they're flatheads you've been catching? That surprises me. I've never caught a flathead out of Hickory, never seen anybody else catch one either. You're right, there are some good channels however. They hold catfish tourneys on Hickory, so you'd think if flatheads were in there they'd be hooking some during these, but they don't. As far as I know, the flathead population in Hickory was commercially fished out 15-20 years ago. Maybe they are coming back. That would be nice. :smile2: Never heard of any flatheads in Rhodhiss either, Micheal.

Well iv fished the lake now for about 5 years and never caught a flatty. I think jayjay might be catching the big bullheads which look like a flathead with a squared off tail but rarely get bigger than 2lb
