For those of you who fish Lake of the Ozarks, be advised that the annual draw down appears to be underway limiting access to some boat ramps. That must mean spoonbill snagging season is near:tounge_out:..LOL:smile2:

    Projected draw downs to 651.
Only 42 days until spoonbill season...

May be a stupid question, why do they draw the lake down? Guessing to help produce habitat with aquatic vegetation? Chris

I'm not for sure about the 38 but I know they do a bunch up around the 52 and the 72mm. I have friends with lake houses at both of those.

    Yeah,
there up to 20,000cfs from the dam, that water is rolling down the Osage along with all the tree limbs taken out by the ice storms. I hope we don't get much rain before they stop letting water go. I almost got the dock taken out by a tree a couple years back.

I guess it's just that time of year.

I believe they drop the lake to make room for spring rains and to give loz residents a chance to repair sea walls.

That is what I always heard also. Someone also said that they was going to quit doing that but I never heard a reason.

I wonder how the fishing at Bagnell is right now with them pumping the water out. A person might have to go give it a try. :smile2:
