I never really thought about how lakes got their names. Usually, the water was impounded and the city/town closest to the dam was chosen as the name... ie; Kaw Lake in Oklahoma, Lake Eufala, Skiatook, etc. But then I read where we have a Lake Sardis, and I believe one in MIssissippi also, and, probably there is a Lake Sardis in other states as well... we have Kerr lake and I know one of the eastern states also has a Lake Kerr. How many other lake names are you aware of that is located in two or more states?

Well...up here in MN, I know of 5 difffernet Rice Lakes in our state alone. With over 10000 lakes, we have numerous lakes with the same name.
