Started fishing at around 7:30 am. Quit at 12:20pm. Landed 37 cats. Cut bait. No big-uns... couple in the 6-7lb range. Drifting w/ free lines...

Turkyhunt, were you on the mid or lower end of Monty? I've had a lot of success on the lower end in the power plant area. Monty sure has a ton of eater cats.

How deep were the fish?? I have heard several people talk about using shrimp. I find it hard to put shrimp on a hook, i like to put them on a grill. Maybe thats why i ain't catching fish at Monty:big_smile:

Caught the fish on free lines no weights.... so the fish were not deep... and fresh... emphasis on FRESH shrimp are the key for catching eating size cats on monty with shrimp... I go shrimping every year and bring back and freeze solid in water... they like em on wylie too.

Went out yesterday(8/14), and fished from about 10:30am to around 5:45pm. They weren't biting as good as the last time we fished Monty, but we caught around 25 eating size cats. We were fishing Sonny's blood bait in about 20-35ft depths.
