Went up to lake Mary, launched at the narrows 5.00 pm fished for what ever would bite .jigs ,worms and crankbait . trolled around a bit . no fish not even a bite .
Camp host had caught a few nice crappie on jigs under a bobber and was catching small perch on a bit of worm.He also said thing will pick up in a couple weeks .
We saw a bunch of people fishing at the dam for pike . and at the lower lake dam for trout , action seemed slow.

That funny!! We were up there from 11:30 till 5. Did a little of everything to catch them but it was pretty slow, I got one about 3lbs, my Dad is here visiting from Texas and he got one little one. My brother and nephew also went with my brother catching 2 and my nephew got 1. All but one were caught on spoons trolling. The other was on a rattle trap. Nothing with any size but an awesome day on the water with the male half of my family.

Bubba, I've never been to Lake Mary. I'm going to take my Grandsons fishing for a week like i do each year. Usually go to Utah and catch trout as I'm familar with the lakes there. Just wondering if you would recommend Lake Mary for a good place to go with two boys. I usually just take my 10' Avon inflatable with a 4hp motor. Looking for a nice place to camp (travel trailer) not too far from the water. Best would be if I could keep boat in the water for the week. Any help here would be appreciated. They don't care what kind of fish, just like to catch fish.
Edit: also do they have primitive camping? that you can get a travel trailer into? 26 footer?

Don't know why, but it wouldn't let me edit my other post for a second time.
I think I'll leave the trailer at home and just tent it. If I boat to the the other side of the lake, are there some good camping spots for about a 4 night stay?
Thanks in advance,

If you aregoing to camp at Lake Mary make sure you take some chicken liver and plenty of anchovies. There are some real pig channels in that lake that are rarely fished for. Trout heads are probly the best catfish bait there, so I heard from a local lol, I have never used such a thing in my life..............honest officer!!!!!!!!
