Lake Marion - Who says blue catfish dont eat big live bait???

    I had said in an earlier post a 16lb blue cat i caught on lake marion had 2 huge baitfish in the back of it's throat. After cleaning it I snapped some pictures of what was in there for yall.... The biggest gizzard shad probably weighed around one pound. This new discovery is gonna make me start fishing with bigger bait:big_smile:

    Good grief, thats some big shad for a 16 lbs fish. Well without the shad he would be 14 lbs so thats even more impressive.

    It's not rare to catch smaller ones on relatively big fresh bait (picking at it), so naturally the bigger ones will hit it to.

    They will take both.
    But I bet the shad were dead or dieing when he ate them also.
