Lake Marion Report 8/1

    Fished from 6:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Ended up catching 12 the first three came in the first 15 minutes. For me, around 11:30 they turned off like turning off a light. Drifted threadfin shad from 2'-30' Water temp 85. Big one 18 lbs. Let e'm go for another day.

    Congrats on the nice catch. Thanks for the release maby there will be some left when I get back on the lake.

    Good report, Kelly, and thanks. I've found that during the heat of summer, they bite very early, up until the sun gets high, then move to nearby deeper water; sometimes when I move deep I can still get a few, but more times than not, they develop lockjaw. 'Course, in this heat, I often develop an uncontrollable urge to seek out air conditioning at home. :wink:
