My parents just bought some property in the Lake Malone area. I was wondering if somebody can tell me what kind of catfish there is and how the fishing is there year round.

It's located half way South of I-24 and North of Hyw 68 between Bowling Green and Hopkinsville. North of Russellville.

Your best bet is to take 431 North from Russellville or 431 South from Central City. It's approximatly 25 miles from the Central City exit off the West KY Parkway (Wendell Ford Parkway). When you reach a little town called Dunmore (don't blink, you'll miss the whole town), watch for signs to Lake Malone. Beautiful little lake with lots of bait fish (bass, crappie, bluegill) and cats. I've only caught a few cats there but have heard several tales of real good catches. Good luck.

    BTW, it's north to north-east of I-24.

    Have a nice day.
