Lake hickory fishing

    Is anybody fishing Lake Hickory for crappies,thinking about going friday.

    nah i dont know of anyone thats been fishing hickory for crappie. id say try Gunpowder or Bethlehem cove

    I was thinking of going today and seeing what Bass may be in there...and throwing a few catfish jugs

    Is gunpowder the name of a cove? Just curious.

    There is also Gunpowder Creek. (Got a phone call and ran out of edit time again :smile2:.)

    Bro Whistler, there is a Gunpowder Creek on Lake Hickory. It's a good place for bait (shad, perch, etc.) and I've had fair luck with channel cats and crappie there.

    However, I am not familiar with a place called Gunpowder Cove.

    I am new to having a boat, and with the drought, I've had little time on Lake Hickory, but I know the area that is referred to as Gunpowder...I wasn't sure if it is referred to as a cove or what...
