I used to do really well with catfish at Hartwell so I plan to fish there a few times this spring in the yak. Does anyone have much luck with the catfish there? As far as bait, I assume cut bluebacks would be the way to go what else would be worth a try?

    Thanks for any help!

Yakdawg, Right now it seems that cut bream is the bait of choice. Bluebacks work too, but they are slow to bite them. Hope this helps.

fished on hartwell two weeks ago and found a few blues in shallow water . the best bite came off gizzard shad and some on blue backs , only caught 4 but they averaged 30+ lbs . there are not as many blues in hartwell as there are at santee but they're getting a good start ,hartwell has some really great flatheads and alot of average sized channels .
