Lake Erie

I know Ohio claims to have more shoreline space on Erie but so what, Michigan is the Great Lakes State, we have better football, we nearly blasted Ohio off the map for trying to take Toledo beofre we realized taking it would be our loss not theirs, and Besides, who wants to trust the opinion of a state that forgot to become a state and had to have a recent president retroactively grant statehood after even Alaska figured it out all those miles away that Alaska is. Yeah- look it up... it happened Ohio... you forget too much. It happens.
SO Erie:
Lake Erie is the smallest of the Great Lakes in volume (119 cubic miles) and is exposed to the greatest effects from urbanization and agriculture. Measuring 241 miles across and 57 miles from north to south, the lake's surface is just under 10,000 square miles, with 871 miles of shoreline. The average depth of Lake Erie is only about 62 feet (210 feet, maximum). It therefore warms rapidly in the spring and summer, and frequently freezes over in winter.

Vic Brown describes the spot he fished on Erie and how to get there from Michigan:
"Location: Exit 5 off I-75 (5 miles from Ohio border)go east until road dead ends at a gated area. You can't see the lake until you go beyond the gate and walk about 50 to 75 yards. Turn right(south)and go approximately a 1/4 to 1/2 mile down the beach. As I was walking down the beach I realized just how psychologically linked I am to rivers. You can't miss the drainage;it's pretty obvious. You really have to get your mind wrapped around the concept of throwing your offering in this current created from this drainage flow. Supposedly, they catch their limits there, but I only stayed for 45 minutes and got the heck out of there. I think I'm starting to catch on to the idea of staying in a spot for only and hour and moving out. I ended up fishing four different locations with the Raisin River saving me from getting skunked.LOL.I tell you what if I ever get a boat it's over...lol "
