I have never fished either one of them however I have heard Lake Mattoon is a good fishing lake for Channels drift fishing with cut shad and bluegill...

Several people fish it but not for cats...and usually throw them back so they are pretty nice average size...ranging from 5 to 8 lbs as I have been told...several cats caught last year by my friend that fishes it regularly in the 12 - 14 lb range...

I have wanted to try it several times last year but was just caught up with my other fishing holes farther south...

    Please keep us posted
