Now that I've cured some boat problems, I'll be headed to my closest water (short of the back yard) on Saturday. Got a batch of chum brewing, got a big mess of chicken breasts prepared. Looking to put some nice size eaters in the boat. Seems that my brother was out there last week with the grandkids and caught 14 keepers. He said it was nothing real big, but a lot of fun.

Bastrop is one of the lakes around here that has stopped jug fishing.

is it true that the limit on channel cats is now 5 fish. i do not fish there because of the crowds that are usually there on weekends. good luck on your trip.

Channel and blues are still at the state limit/size, flatheads are limited to 5 with a 18" minimum. Haven't been much crowds out there lately, I don't take up much room.
