Someone tested hook breakage. Useing pliers and not. When they used pliers to unhook fish, then tested hook, it broke at plier mark. When fish unhooked useing hands the hook held under testing.

I dont believe that is too bad.......considering that a catfish on a hook is not applying a static weight (dead weight with 100% resistance force) to the hook, because the fish is in water, the fish is moving, the rod is flexing, and the drag is allowing cushion, so the whole set up is allowing for dynamic weight (weight force is lessened/changed by an outside influence) to be applied to the hook by the fish which would/should be less than the static weight that the test applied.
