I got this in an email. Forgive if it is a repost. Its worth reposting anyhow even if it is.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    WORLD WIDE.....

If you woke up this morning
    with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won't survive the week.

    If you have never experienced
    the danger of battle,
    the loneliness of imprisonment,
    the agony of torture or
    the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
    around the world.

If you attend a church meeting
    without fear of harassment,
    arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
    you are very rare,
    especially in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
    but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
    offer God's healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways
    you may never even know.

    This is a good lesson...

In America where Depression and Depression medication seems to flow in a river like M&Ms at a 2nd grade holiday party, you gotta remember... we're all better than one in 5 billion according to this measure. And there are only 6 billion here on earth, so at your absolute worst youre in the top 20% by just being an American.

Truly ask yourself then where does that sadness belong?

Sal your post says so much of what I have often felt. The words are on the spot and deadly accurate! If we could only quite feeling sorry for ourselves even for a minute we might truly enjoy all that we have! I was feeling all my acks and pains one day as I went to get a hunting area on Fort Campbell last season and when I got there, there was a young man in a wheel chair missing one foot and both arms. And he was happy to go hunting. Right there I thought to myself what a sap you have everything to be thankful for. The things it takes to remind you of how lucky you truly are! I am a very lucky person in that aspect and very thankful! Keep sharing and God Bless.

Good post Sal! Make you wanna stop & think about how we are truly blessed.I reckon it's like the old saying goes:'I always complained because had no shoes.............until I met a man who had no feet'.
