This probably belongs in the strange bait thread, but I wanted to see if anyone has tried this. We took a trip out off the coast of florida and wound up with about 70+ pounds of king mackrel and 8 large bags of fillets with the skin still on. With kings, you have to do alot of trimming to keep the meat from tasting funny. On 70 pounds of fish, thats alot of trimmings. I saved about 3 small bags of chunks from the trimmings. I think I'm gonna try to use some of the pieces with skin on them on my trotline, just to see what happens, and use the meat trimmings on a bream trap or I'll find something to do with them. Anyone ever used Kings as Cat bait before? Has anyone ever had any luck with the meat from a saltwater fish before? This won't be a primary bait, but an emergency bait.
