Thank you to all the anglers that came out Sunday and fished the Kevin Shaw Benefit Tournaments. NEOCATS held a tournament at Spencer Lake in Medina County and the Deer Creek Catfish Association and the Ohio Hills Catfish Club held a tournament at Buckeye Lake east of Columbus. The sacrifice these anglers gave up to help out a fallen brother was amazing. Talk about a challenge. The morning started out cold and windy and finished even colder. The temperature never got above 35, and with the snow flurries and constant wind it felt a lot colder. At the Spencer Lake tournament: 20 anglers fished but only 4 caught fish. Nathan Torres of Elyria took the First Place honors with 8 pound 6 oz Channel.
Skip Martin of Copley had Second Place with a 6 Pound 8 ½ oz Channel.
Ryan Lawrence of Enon Valley, PA came in Third Place with a 5 pound 5 oz Channel.
Theresa Shanks of Elyria finished Fourth with a 3 pound 6 ½ oz Channel.
At the Buckeye Lake Tournament: 7 anglers fished and they all caught a lot more fish than we saw at Spencer. Mike Money Bags Wahl took tops honors there with a 5 pound Channel. Danny Caudill, Criss Sexton, and Joe Aucreman all tied for Second with 4 pound 4 oz Channels. A special thanks to Tom Long for organizing this event at Buckeye Lake.
Both top winners donated their winnings back to Kevins family and overall the two groups of die-hard catfish anglers raised a total of $550.00 to help them. Another thanks to Cripple Creek Bait and Tackle in Uhrichsville, Sunrise Outfitters in Wooster, Land Big Fish in Barberton, Chet & Frans Country Store in Wellington, and Fin, Feather, and Fur in Ashland for donations they made. Carl Myers won an Okuma Combo.

Me and my little brother T-bone froze are backsides off but were very proud to do it for such a noble cause. We are both glad to be affiliated with such a great bunch of people that would come together for a benefit in a snowstorm. We busted out but but had a great time.
