Canoes are good too. Maybe a little easier to get in/out of.
Haha, it is getting back in them that makes me think.
I put a trolling motor on mine also. It sure beats paddling against the wind or current on the way back to the launch. Not to mention that I can get to the area I want to fish a little faster.

I like that it gives me options for many things. Obviously it saves some paddling, but also options for different fishing tactics. I can drag baits, like in the big boat for example, or I can counter the drift and hover over a spot. Just way more options than paddling alone, or at least much less complicated/exhausting.
I fish out of a canoe. My wife and daughter go every chance they get so a YAK wouldn't work for me. My 6 year old has become quite the navigator!!
He makes two major points in this video. Never leave biting fish to look for other fish and using blue catfish for bait.

Excellent way to catch catfish bait Be sure and have a floating bait bucket or live-well available.
Before you buy a Kayak, listen to this dude >>>
Great info, will have to look into this. I've got a nice kayak but have never catfished from it. Should be useful for accessing small hard to reach waters.

They definitely are useful.
