2nd fished current and a couple holes down river from the weir by the topeka blvd bridge and no action. used cut & live goldfish
3rd night fishin at the weir with the same results. used cut & live goldfish
Nope not yet but it will.
Josh, you guys been hittin any blue on the Missouri yet?
i have not but some guy's may have:wink:
Not yet but that water sure did warm up fast the past couple day's. Lets just hope that it don't get as cold as there saying.
i wont be hitting the holes for at least another month
4 hours of fishin produced this 5 1/2 lb. beauty. Chris (Kansas_Rebel) got this at one of my holes on the Kaw. he was a bit doubtfull when we got there but after bein there about 20 min and gettin this he liked it. not long after he had to go so this one went back in cuz i aint cleanin only 1 fish. a couple hours at the weir didnt get us a thing. good day though.
been down there twice so far
first time it yielded a whopper at 1and 3/4 lbs channel
second time was with j (mighty_thorr) and yeah i was skeptical it was more about our freedom with the big no tresspassing signs but it was worth it and we are both still roaming free :smile2: just kidding j it was a good spot that i would have never thought of hitting
i was fishing at the kaw to day and i got a 7 pound blue cat on shad =p
at kaw point ?? bank or boat?? im gonna try to get my bud mat to give up on these lakes for now and get back on the river tomorrow. i just may be out yer way so dont catch em all.
took the rod out of the truck today before i left KC. i stopped off at Kaw Point and still no luck. really windy down in there. got snagged up after about an hour so i called it quits cuz i baited up at the truck and didnt take anything down with me. guess i was too lazy to walk back up to re-rig.
Keep swinging Jason! Sooner or later Mr. Whiskers'll show up...
Here is a good read I found on the KDWP website. All this time, and I didnt even know it was there. There is alot of neat stuff on that website. I just needed to look around more.
Headed to the weir in Topeka in a couple of hours to fish the Kaw with JJ and his crew. Anyone interested in joining in on the fun , come on down. I can be reached at 913-708-2178 if anyone needs directions.
I would love to get a line wet tonight but tonight is my late night at work. I might be able to get down there after work, all have to see. If not maybe next time.
oh man i really want to, but my best friend probably wouldnt be too happy if i didnt make his birthday haha. damn, i cant wait to get out there already
Little report from last night. Went to the weir in Topeka with JJ, Lucky, my buddy Joe , and my brother in law Richard. Got alot of bites using frozen cut shad. Thinking it was mostly gar. No rod bendin bites. Some guy out there caught a 10 lb. flathead on crawlers. Tried down stream by the Boulevard bridge a little later. No bites there. It was nice to get to fish the weir and fish a stretch of the Kaw ive never fished before, but the fishing sucked. Still a little bit too early. Another couple weeks, and Ill have to go back out there and try again. Nice spots on the river though. Go Jayhawks !!!!!!!
Hopefully you all will start catching some soon
Keith, that night was so bad i never planned on talkin bout it:smile2:
