Went to Kaw yesterday (3-14) to check out the fishing report on the Blues. Arrived just below first light and found shad at my launch ramp (Sarge) in about 15 to 20 ft. Gathered up the shad and went to Coon and Bear crk. areas. The bite was really slow. I only caught three. They were good fish. All over 20 lbs. About noon I left to try to find more fish. I found lots of fish but again they just weren't biting. The other boats had also pretty much left the lake as the wind had got pretty strong in the early afternoon. I found that the shad were pretty easy to find off the banks in about 15 ft. of water. Really slow day but better than sitting home.
