Meh, they're all made in the same set of factories. I remember reading in the late 1990's that all the laptops made came out of six factories. Probably the same for reels these days. Omoto's made reels for many brands, incl. Abu.

I bought that K/K Baitfeeder 6000 for my son and he loves it. He sets the rear drag so the bluegill can play a bit and sets the front just enough for the hook set. Hard to beat for $52 delivered!

Yea mine has been a good one so far, and I'm not easy on my stuff. I've yet to miss a fish with it. The only complaint is the reel handle needs to be a little beefier. But it's not a bad reel for the money.

optix from a few years ago were pretty decent. i bought 2 60's around 2 years ago and they fell apart. something inside both of them started squealing.

As a Penn fan myself, if it fit my budget, I'd opt for the Penn Spinfisher V SSV6500LL @ $136 from Shark River since it's a fully sealed reel. Still, $52 delivered, ain't bad for that KastKing on Ebay.

I've got 2 right now and have had them for awhile, haven't had any problems with mine yet. The cheapo Rippin Stix rod I bought on amazon I put a optix 60 on it. There's under $50 in that setup and have threw 4oz 80yds with ease. I let my younger cousins use my extra rods when we fish. So don't really matter if they scratch or beat them up lol.

You might get better results on a rod that can actually load up for that size reel?

i ordered 2 of those sunday for the 2 okuma 12ft longitudes i have. i have 1 fierce 6000 ll on a 10 ft ugky stik and have 2 more of those rods with nothing on them. i try to keep everything uniform but for 52.00... kinda tempting.

That setup was for spooling on line. I will probably fish it for carp with #6 J-style hooks with a method feeder only 10-15 feet from shore until I decide on a rod for it and get the drag etc. setup.

Glad to hear that! :) My son wants one of those little rods for crappie when we're too close to the derrick for a longer one.

I bought it for baitfish, but as you can see, it can do more than that. I've got 10 lb. braid on the spinning reel.

I saw that the guy from "pimpmyreel" on youtube loves the kastking rover.

This guys was the same guy who ripped hard on the Abu 6500S reels.

After watching PMR do the tear down of the Kastking Rover, I was impressed about how little plastic is in the reel and how much of the reel was designed with metal parts. I didn't see a lot of parts either.
