Jim , its a pretty good walk. About ten minutes to get down to the bank, then you have to walk about 40 yds. of rocks some boulders , some small. There really isnt anywhere to put a camper. You could camp down in the woods next to peterbuilt, there is room back there to pitch a tent. Its more of a place to fish all day or night , and go home when your done. Bubba there is a little dirt road next to peterbuilt , on the south side of the road that you can park. It can hold about 10 vehicles. If you drive over 435 going north , or down woodend , and you see more than 5 or 6 vehicles down there, then its a good bet that the fishing will be good. Ill let you all know when its time, and whoever wants can join me down there. Itll probably still be a couple more weeks.

The only place to park is out on the road next to Woodend, between the 435 bridge and Peterbuilt. You are a long ways from your car, but I've fished there a lot and never had a problem.

Jim, Camping around there is pretty much non existent. I've seen people camp in tents down by the river, but it's a pretty good walk even without camping gear. A better option might be to meet at Kaw Point (confluence of Missouri and Kansas Rivers) and sleep on the boat anchored on thev river or off a sandbar. I would put you up for a night or two in my house as another option, I'm about 15 miles from the river.

I didn't mean camping right at the place to fish, I had more in mind a campground somewhere within 5 or 10 miles, then we could make it to the fishing place in the truck. Sounds like it's more likely to be a day trip. I'd give the hike there a try.

Yeah and I hope the water is really coming over that dam. When it's like that the fishing is good but the access is boat only.
