I am from kansas and have never caught any big blues but with fall coming I would like to give it a shot - the lakes here are not very deep but they do have some big blues present - I've gathered that they will usually be asociated with deep water but should this be the case with cooling water temps and if so is it better to target the river channel bends or areas where other channels merge with the main channel? Outside bends or inside? Would fishing humps or holes be better - and will they usually tend to be on the up wind or down wind side of either? Also will they suspend around steep drop offs close to shore?I know lots of ?'s but an idea of where to start would sure be a big help - Catching channels wouldn't be a problem but I would like to lay my hands on a big blue before the season is over and I hoping next month will be my time to do it! Thanks for any help or advice!!
