As you Know I'm going to be a Pappy in august. I just got informed she is getting married On the 9th of July.
Not sure how I feel about this now thats its going to happen. He is not my kind of cat but then again, He is young and Loves My Daughter and show My wife and I respect. If ask him to help me, He is right there and jumps right in.
Guess He might be a little like me. He is different, I was too. My Father in laws wanted to kick my Arse and I have wanted to do that. difference is I was willing to fight and told them so. He doesn't want to fight me. Not sure if thats a sign of respect or Fear. Not of me but, No one screws with E's Dad. They will get the wrath of both of us, And thats no place to be.
I guess I should be happy. Just feels like I'm loosing. Ya I'm new at this but, I only have one Daughter. Guess pay backs are hell. My Father in law didn't like me much either, God rest his soul.

Don't worry Jay you are not losing a daughter. Daughters and Daddys
have a special relationship no one will ever touch. I have been married
39 years and now my inlaws are older and live in a mobile home on my
place where my wife can watch out for them.
My wife can get mad at her dad because like most older people he is
very hard headed. But no one else better not say anything about him
including me. You bad mouth her Dad and you bring out the mean in
that woman.LOL

Jay I know you will do the right thing and stand behind your Daughter I have stood behind my sons on some the weirdest gals my sons could find and they would ask me what I thought and I would always tell them it you thats having to live with them not me and they would make their on minds however I have some awsome grandkids and I just found out that will have another grandson on the way be here Nov so the boys are gaining on them gals gals 5 boys 2 goodluck Jay

Well, kids get in trouble nowdays, either they ain't careful or think it will be ok. I only got one daughter, and one guy was pretty good, but he dumped her, the next one I thought might be ok, in fact he was growin on me, but she dumped him. She has a good head on her shoulders, as much as any woman can, but I'm always concerned, and she knows it.

As far as guys bein guys, when she was about 16 I told her guys would say anything, and tell her they lover her. I also said if she felt the same way and said so, they would say prove it. So I told her to tell em I was a trained killer and she wouldn't want anything bad to happen to them. That worked long enough. I used to worry about her and what she would do, who/if she would get married, and it was hard to face, I just couldn't think about it. Then I just had to learn to accept its her life and I can't live it for her. I wish her the best.

Congratulations to your daughter, hope everything turns out good.

jay as a former son in law my ex wifes fam. and i got along well. her dad on the other hand tried to think he was gonna ruff me up. he tried to get in my face and tell me i better treat his daughter right. i jumped right on back in his. he never had a dam thing to do with her and had no right to tell me that not even knowing who i was. he disrepsected me and still does to this day even tho i have my kids the same amount as she does and still pay my child support every month on time. i think it will work out for ya and your daughter. just give him that chance to be a man and if he aint no kinda man then lay down the law. just my .02 buddy. i have a 9 yr. old daughter myself and worry when that day comes and some punk disrespects me. id say if he shows ya respect and loves your daughter like a woman needs to be loved then it will be ok. just calm down dad. lol

Bein a young guy maself, I gotta say give the son-in-law a fair shot, besides the usual 'hello's' and 'goodbye's that you exchange when ya see eachother. Maybe take him for a fishing trip :cute: If you try and still don't like him, then just remember he makes your daughter happy

Hope everything works out! I've been with my girlfriend for nearly 2 years and can count on 1 hand how many times I've talked to her father. He doesn't seem to dislike me.. to be honest, I don't think he cares enough to figure out whether he likes me or not. Kind of disheartening cuz like your daughter's fiancee, I want her father to like me

But all in all He is a ok Kid. Wants me to teach him how to fish. So How bad could he be. He's very protective of my daughter and respectful to my wife and I. Drives into OP and mows my folks yard every week.
I honestly believe if Needed He would walk into down town Hell with me if he knew I needed him to.
He got into some trouble when he was young, But so did I. I paid my dues and when I spoke with him, He went and Took care of his trouble too. Dues Paid. Got to respect him for that.
Getting used to the idea. Thanks for all the input guys, It helped me to get it worked out in my head.​

good deal jay. every man if diff. from the next. hell if anything you can poke fun at him later for the face full of hooks. lol he may be a hell of a fella but has his own ways. if thats what he wants to do hell let him. maybe ya can convert the ol boy to be a recneck!!!!!!!!
