    Hey yall,
I'm new to catfishin and I was wondering what is the basic setup for jug lines. Where we go is about 5 feet deep. I was wondering how many hooks, what kind of bait is the best, something like that. Thanks.

You need to go to the BOC library for jug set ups.
Lots of info there about jugs, hooks and bait.

Also your state game laws has certain restrictions on jugs. Example color of jug the number of hooks per jug, total amount of hooks in the water at one time and other restrictions. Good luck catfishing you will like it.

I like to jug fish some time it don't cost a lot to jug fish. I use 1 gallom jugs with a handel .I also like to set the line 1 foot off the bottom.I use #5/0 circle
hook. You also need about 100 lb test line.Just about any kind of bait will do.Some people don't like jug fishing they don't think it sporting. But it about like drift fishing. The fish hangs it self and you don't reel him in on a rod.We use a dip net to pick up the jug the pull in the line.It a lot of fun for the kids to let them pullin the fish.
