Jug fishing in the winter

    Does anyone know if jug fishing in effective this time of year? Any tips would be helpful. In the summer time i run jugs effectively. Thanks in advance.

    I do some jug fishing in the winter. There are a couple place here that are mud flats in about 20' of water. We catch blues that are coming in to the mussel beds. We use shad and cut skip jack for bait.

    I think if you jugged in the winter 2 things may be needed longer lines on jugs and bluecats ....

    I have actually caught more cats fishing in cold weather than warm weather jug fishing.
