Just wondering if anyone has fished Redmond recently, Since the water had been so high I only got to go down there and fish early this spring. Thought about going down this weekend to do some driftin.

Josh I have not been down there this year to fish, I have had some buddies that have fished the lake and pulled out a few nice ones. Wish I could help out more.

The fish in my avatar came from there earlier this year. I put him back so he might still be there. Been back a couple times but only ended up with good stories about storms and wind and such. Caught few good size channels (10 or so lbs) a couple of weeks ago but no monsters.

Ive been considering heading up there for a weekend of fishing, anybody know of any good spots up that way, or good river spots they could point me in the direction of, havent fished that area since I was a kid going with my dad and uncle once in a while.

Did you get that flathead on rod and reel? What did she weigh?

Caught her on rod and reel with a float and a dead gill. First fish other than gills I have ever got with a float. The junk seven dollar scales I found in my tackle box showed it weighing just under twenty pounds.:confused2: I wish I knew what it actually weighed. I saw one a couple weekends ago that went 65 and mine wasn't much, if any smaller. I need some good scales, but I just got a Shimano 6500 Baitrunner today, so I guess I'll guess a while longer. I could barely scrape up enough to buy line for it after I got it.

I have never held any fish over 10#s but in my "professional" opinoin I would say closer to mid 40's by the pic.

Went to redmond sunday evening and ended up with 8 from 3 to 13 lbs. fishing was kind of slow, we caught 5 of the 8 in one spot. we found a snaggy spot and we would either get hung up or pulled down and some of the bigger fish would hit it so hard it was hard to get them out of the rod holders. if sure was nice to caught some post spawn fish they are so aggressive and hungry. the lake is about normal and the gates should be close to shutting down hopefully it stays normal this year, the last two years it has been 20 foot high most of the summer.
