Launched out of Osbourne today. Bait was no issue today. Within a few minutes I had plenty of shad in the net for myself and Fish Pimp.

Fished a couple of hours down around the 295 bridge. Marked fish & bait everywhere. Had a heck of a time getting a bite though. I did end up putting a couple of teens in the boat, but that was about it.

Worked my way upriver and eventually ended up in the hole that I caught the 48 out of last weekend. Sure enough, I marked bait & fish on the depth finder. In short order I had a 28 in the boat - great! Now things were looking up. Due to the fact that the bite has been so slow for the last couple of days, I decided to hang out & fish each hole for a bit longer than normal. After about 30 minutes and a couple of halfhearted take downs, my rod went off in a big way. It was about all I could do to get the rod out of the holder. Fought the fish for 5 or 10 minutes and finally got it off the bottom (naturally it hit on my lightest 25lb class rod) Once it started coming I had it boatside and in the net pretty quickly.

62 pounds on the scale!!!:frk-big: A new Personal Best, YEA!! The third in the last 3 weeks of fishing. I think the PBs will come a little slower from this point forward  I don't mind.

    /Scott

Great fish Scott. Don't confuse luck with skill.
