James River shad cam - For what it's worth....

    The "Shad Cam" is catching many pics of fish passing through on their way up the James River. Every once in a while you will see a flathead, channel, or blue pass through also. DGIF has it online or just google shad cam.

    I've been on this thing many times and never once saw a fish. So I saw your post and decided to take another look, and pretty much every shot around 3:45 had shad passing through it!

    i sat and watched this thing for an hour man i have seen some big cats lurking under the shads thats just crazy

    I think the end of April is when the ladder gets more active. I would watch it in March and early April and usually see nothing. The eels seem to migrate through during the night. I like seeing them, 15 years ago we would catch them on our catfish rigs. Seldom do we even see one any more while catfishing.
