Launched out of Osborne Landing Tues. morning and met up with Bluecat69 later in the day. Fishing was slow but managed to get a 23, 17, 10, and 5 smaller ones. The 23 and 17 were caught on shad, all the smaller ones on cut eel. Finished fishing at about 6pm.
Wed. morning we again launched out of Osborne and made it to Deep Bottom when I realized I did not put the plug in the boat! (first time I ever did that) Anyway, Immediately pulled up the the shore and the bilge pump had kept up as I didn't have but about a half gallon of water in the bottom of the hull! I figured luck was on my side today
Well on Tues. I was attempting to drain the water from the minnow bucket I had my eels in and the lid opened and I dumped all the eels in the river! So today it would only be shad! Fishing was a little better today and since I only had about 4 hours to fish we didn't even bother moving from the first spot I set up at.
From 10am - 1pm we landed 4 fish in the low 20's, (2 were actually 37" & 36" but very skinny) a 15, and about 6 dinks! I also had a nice fish break my line, Set the hook on a really nice fish and about 3 seconds later the line went slack.... I was disgusted thinking I was too impatient but when I reeled the line in my 50lb mono leader was snapped about half way up to the swivel.
Mike and Ramon....Please send me your phone number again...>Dropped my phone in the river yesterday and had no way to contact either of you today. Thanks
