James River Around Richmond

772 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Steve Knox
I know I could probably do some research to find the information i'm looking for but hopefully somebody will have some advice for me. I have been in Richmond for awhile now, but mainly fish out of DG. Unfortunately my fishing partner has relocated for a brief period and i'm looking to try out some new stuff. I'm looking for some advice on fishing the banks/rocks near the city and up river. I have notice a lot of people fishing near hugeonot and pony pasture. I haven't fished any of these areas, nor have I been to those parks. Just wanted to see if anyone had any tips or advice for wading or bank fishing.

I would say your best bet is to fish up around Pony Pasture. The fishing on the tidal river falls off during the summer months. I will be doing a lot of fishing up there as well. i will still fish down river on guided trips and a few tournaments but the fun is fishing up river. Good Luck Wayne
