Now that things are back up and running lets start a new thread on the Chattahoochee river:cool2:
Sounds good Eddie, we had a good one going before so lets make it even better.
I'm down with that. You can't keep a fisherman down.
Nope, we all have fish stories to tell!!........................................and we ain't even been fishing!
Come on weekend!
Travis, where are you fishing this weekend? Just so everyone knows the new server is not going to carry these messages forward
About 100 yrs ago I was stationed at Benning for a few years and fished the chattahoochee. It was my first real introduction to bass and catfishing, it was a great time then. I was wondering if they still catch those big cats below oliver dam? I saw some monsters caught mostly on limblines, saw a guy shoot snakes that fell in his boat from the trees then haul ass before it sunk too.:smile2:
Yae they do still catch them though it's a little easer to get down to the dam from the bank now that the river walk is there. sounds like some thing my dad did shooting the bottom out of the boat because of a snake. There's olny one boat ramp now and you can only use jon-boats
but it's still a great catfish hole.
Any body catchhing any bait or been fishing
I'm leaving friday afternoon and heading for lake harding. I haven't got any bait fish yet, was hoping to catch some sat. morning. Unless Eddie knows somewhere down that way where I can buy some live shad. If not I'll put some chicken livers on the hook an go for some of those eating size channels friday night.:smile2:
I'm hoping to fish up the lake some and into the river.
Did not get a chance to go for bait yesterday and it don't look like I will today either. This hot weather is going to have everything moving about. Hopefully it will be a good day for fishing.
John, bait should be easily had on these hot days. Take your cast net with you and throw it out, you should catch something that you can cut up for bait.
Good luck to everyone who is fishing this weekend.
I caught some skipjack today they were down deep around 15ft. The water was low at the dam and nobody was catching any until I stated catching some and then everybody tried to push me out of the way. I being the type of fisherman I am just got out of the way and let them try for themselves to no avail, so I gave them some of mine and got back to catching them again.
eddie about 3 or 4 should be all I need
Gotchya covered Brother:cool2:
the shad were pooling around the docks saturday morning and up near to rocks by the bridge.
Hey there beertools, where you been hiding at? Caught any more fish
